Uromastyx geyri, also known as the saharan uromastyx, is a lizard native to the deserts of North Africa and the Middle East. They are notable for their often strikingly bright color patterns on the back, and their dinosaur-like spiny tails. Many people prefer uromastyx over other reptiles because of their vegetarian diet, which does not require live food such as crickets or worms.
