The White Skirt Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) is an intermediately sized tetra species. They have a round, thin body that varies from stark white to pinkish in colour. This fish is a white colour form of the Black Skirt Tetra, and thus their care is identical.

White skirt tetras live for 3-5 years on average and grow to 2 inches long. They are a shoaling species that should be kept in a group of at least 3. These active fish need a minimum tank size of 15 gallons, with temperatures in the high 70's.

They are generally peaceful, but occasionally will nip the fins of other fish when not enough space is provided. They should not be kept with long-finned fish. Nipping behaviors reduce with larger shoals. They can be kept with other tetra species, danio species, and rasbora species.
