Red Temple (Alternanthera reineckii) is a very popular aquarium plant due to its extreme red colour.
This plant does best in temperatures from the low 60's to low 80's. These plants are slow-growing, and will reach up to 20 inches in length. It will require a moderate to high amount of light.
The bright red colouration of this species depends on lighting and CO2. To maintain its bright red colour, and for best growth, supply with CO2 and ensure the light is bright. While CO2 is not necessary for this plant to grow, it will turn less red over time without it.
