The Emperor Tetra (Nematobrycon palmeri) is a unique species of tetra from Colombia. They have oval-shaped bodies that are primarily cream in colour with a strong blue iridescence. They have a thick black band that travels from their faces, down throughout their forked tails. Their eyes are blue.

This is a listing for juvenile Emperor Tetra, approx. 1" long.

This attractive tetra species is hardy and does very well with other community species. They are a  schooling species and should be kept in groups of 6+. This species reaches 2" in length on average, but can grow up to 3" in length.

The Emperor Tetra is an omnivore, and will readily accept flakes and pellets. This species benefits from the addition of frozen or live foods in their diet. Because this species is a strong jumper, a tight-fitting lid is recommended.
